Privacy policy

About this policy
Intex is run by GovConnex Pty Ltd (ABN 33 629 740 932), called “we” or “us” here. This policy explains how we handle personal information: on this website, intex.so; in Intex itself, on the web and in the Mac app; and anywhere else you deal with us.
We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where the EU’s or the UK’s data protection law applies to you, we follow it too, and the section for people in the EU or the UK says what that adds.
What we collect
When you ask for a demo
- Your first and last name, work email, company and mobile number.
- The country you’re in, which we take from your connection.
- If you’ve allowed marketing cookies, or you’re outside the EU, the EEA and the UK, where your visit came from: the page you arrived on, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link.
- The time you book and the email addresses of anyone you invite.
When you use this website
- The pages you visit and how you found the site, through HubSpot’s tracking code, as your cookie settings allow. Thecookie policy says which cookies are set and when.
- Your IP address and details of your browser and device, which Cloudflare Turnstile checks when you book a demo, to tell people from bots.
When you use Intex
- Your name and work email, which you sign in with, and the one-time codes we email you to sign in.
- What you and your team put into Intex, such as chats, files, pages, spaces and memories. Your organisation controls that content, under its agreement with us.
When you get in touch
What you tell us, and your contact details.
We don’t ask for sensitive information, such as health or religious beliefs. If it’s in content you put into Intex, it’s handled as that content is.
How we use it
- To arrange and hold your demo, and to follow up with you about Intex.
- To provide Intex, support your organisation’s use of it and keep it secure.
- To understand how people use the site, so we can improve it.
- To send you news about Intex, which you can stop at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Artificial intelligence
Intex is built on AI. When you ask Intex something, what it needs to answer, including content from your workspace, is sent to Anthropic’s Claude models through Anthropic’s API, and the searches Intex makes on the web go to a search provider, Exa. Anthropic doesn’t use what it receives through its commercial API to train its models, and we don’t train any models on your content. Intex shows where each finding came from, so a person can check it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as this policy says, and never sell it. The service providers we use are:
| Who | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | Our CRM, the demo form and the meeting calendar, and the site’s tracking code | Australia |
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting this site, its booking service and Intex, and sending sign-in emails | Sydney, Australia |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Checking that a demo booking comes from a person, under Cloudflare’sTurnstile Privacy Addendum | Cloudflare’s global network |
| Anthropic | The AI models Intex answers with | United States |
| Exa | The web searches Intex makes | United States |
We may also share personal information with our professional advisers, with a buyer or investor in a business sale, and with courts, regulators or law enforcement where the law requires it.
Where it’s held
This website, its booking service and Intex run on Amazon Web Services in Sydney. HubSpot holds our CRM and form data in Australia. Some providers are overseas, mainly in the United States, as the table above says. Before information goes overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient protects it as Australian law would, including through our contracts with them.
How we protect it
- Everything between your browser and us is encrypted, with TLS 1.2 or later.
- In Intex, each organisation’s data is kept in its own database, its own storage and under its own encryption key.
- Only the people and systems that need personal information can reach it.
- If a data breach is likely to cause someone serious harm, we tell them and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires, then delete it or remove what identifies you. The site’s booking service keeps nothing itself. Content in Intex is kept and deleted as your organisation’s agreement with us says.
Your choices
- You don’t have to give us personal information, though we may not be able to arrange a demo or provide Intex without it.
- You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and to correct it.
- You can stop marketing emails with the link in any of them, or by asking us.
- You can change your cookie settings at any time, from the cookie policy or the link in the site’s footer.
If you’re in the EU or the UK
Where the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation or the UK’s GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 apply, we rely on these legal bases:
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Arranging and holding a demo you ask for | Steps you ask for before a contract, and our legitimate interests |
| Providing and supporting Intex | Our contract with your organisation, and our legitimate interests |
| Statistics and marketing cookies, and noting where your visit came from | Your consent |
| Checking bookings with Turnstile, and keeping Intex secure | Our legitimate interests |
| Marketing emails | Your consent, or our legitimate interests where the law allows |
| Meeting our legal obligations | Legal obligation |
You can ask for a copy of your personal information, and to have it corrected, deleted or moved to someone else. You can ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it on the basis of our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. When personal information leaves the EU or the UK, we rely on an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Please contact us first, but you can also complain to your data protection authority, which in the UK is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Contact us
Write to our privacy officer at privacy@govconnex.com, or at Level 2, 50 Bridge Street, Sydney NSW 2000. We’ll check who you are before we act on a request, and answer in writing as soon as we reasonably can, at no charge. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy when how we handle personal information changes, and the date at the top will say when.
